A simple operating surface for getting usable Scaniverse room exports from an iPhone without pretending agents are reconstruction technicians.

01 · before scanning

Prep the room like a listing photo, not a tech demo.

  • Turn on lights and reduce dark corners.
  • Open curtains unless windows blow out the image.
  • Stop fans, TVs, people, pets, and moving clutter.
  • Keep doors fully open or fully closed.
  • Flag mirrors, glass, and tight bathrooms as risk rooms.

02 · scan pattern

Slow overlapping passes. No spinning in the middle.

  1. Start near the doorway.
  2. Pan slowly across the room.
  3. Move a few feet, then pan again.
  4. Capture corners, windows, cabinets, furniture edges, and doorways.
  5. Stop after the room is complete. Do not continue into the whole condo.

03 · export

Name files so review is boring.

Export each room as .spz if possible, otherwise .ply. Use the room slugs below exactly, e.g. living-room.spz.

Boring filenames beat forensic archaeology.

Room queue

Capture one clean room node at a time.

Accept when

  • Room shape is obvious within 5-10 seconds.
  • Furniture, walls, windows, and doorways are recognizable.
  • There are no major floaters or melted surfaces.
  • Mobile Safari loads without making the buyer wait forever.

Reject when

  • The scan makes the property look worse than photos.
  • A doorway, corner, or main feature is missing.
  • The room is too dark, blown out, warped, or ghost-soupy.
  • It was captured as one giant full-condo pass.
